II.
Our Method
(God's
Leading For Carrying Out
His Purpose For Us)
|
|

|
We will Glorify God by obedience
to His personal and specific call on our lives. We will pursue this
obedience in several planned, specific ways and we will trust God to
work miraculously in unpredictable ways:
|
A. Specifically Planned
|
 | We will jointly and individually pursue a
deepening personal relationship with Jesus Christ through
scripture study and prayer. This is the only way to know God’s
call on our lives. Through this, our obedience is more likely to
result from faith and not from human effort or ambition.
|
 | We will personally pursue a life that integrates prayer (for each
other and our city) with living the Gospel
of Jesus Christ, building personal,
loving relationships with our city neighbors.
|
 | We will gather into neighborhood prayer
cells, involving our neighbors in various ways, that they
may see God, His people and His Gospel.
|
 | We will hold Sunday worship
services that our neighborhood prayer cells may gather together to
worship and glorify God. |
|
B. Less Predictably
|
 | If God desires an organized Church to result and be sustained, He
will specifically call members, as resources, to do the work of the
ministry. Ministry will not be programs contrived and imposed by
leadership but will emerge with God’s specific and personal call
to individual members.
|
 |
The elders will pray for and look for fruit of the word
preached. They will affirm God’s specific and clear call on the
lives of individuals. We have no preconceived limits as to what God
may do, or how, but we expect miracles.
|
 | The leadership will constantly look to outside “wise counsel”
from others engaged and experienced in similar urban ministry,
asking God to adjust our methods as needed.
