1.  Read the following portions of Scripture:

Deuteronomy 1:13
Acts20:28-31
1 Timothy 3:1-7
Titus 1:6-9 
1 Peter 5:1-4
Answer the following questions:
  1. What does the Bible teach about the qualities/ qualifications of a godly elder (as distinct from the duties of an elder)?

  2. Arrange these qualities into categories of morals, beliefs, and family.

2.  Read the following portions of Scripture: 
Exodus 24:1,9-11, 
Leviticus 4:13-15,
Numbers 11:16-17, 
1 Samuel 8:4-5,     
2 Samuel 5:1-3, 
Acts 20:28-31, 
1 Timothy3:5, 
Hebrews 13:17.
Answer the following questions:
  1. How does the elder stand in relation to the people and to God?

  2. What is the basic duty of the elder (as distinct from the                qualifications of an elder)?

3. To what groups of believers does the word "church" refer in the following verses?
